Super Large Mode Area Fiber

Polyimide coated

Product description

  • The glass fiber core consists of high- or low-hydroxyl, high-purity, undoped quartz glass with a very large mode field area
  • Fluorine-doped quartz glass is used for the jacket
  • Optical fiber coating is smooth, resistant to high temperature and harsh environment, can be widely used for signal and power transmission
  • The specific coating material and thickness can be customized (polyimid, polyacrylic, silica gel etc.)

Properties of the fiber

  • greatly improved temperature resistance and extended service life in a high temperature environment
  • No embrittlement and good mechanical properties in low temperature environment
  • high quality coating
  • no deformation at 300°C
  • adjustable coating thickness with good concentricity and smooth surface
  • no local stress points are generated

Properties of the polyimide polymer

  • good resistance at low and high temperatures
  • good mechanical strength and excellent general performance
  • self-extinguishing with low smoke development
  • Coefficient of thermal expansion close to that of quartz material
  • self-lubricating
  • non-toxic and biocompatible
  • resistant to almost all organic solvents, some inorganic acids and hydrolysis

Typical areas of application

  • Low & high temperature environment
  • high pressure environment
  • Environment with electromagnetic radiation
  • Use under water, resistant to hydrolysis
  • Medical intervention therapy, with biocompatibility
  • Can be sterilized by ETO and radiation (pure silicon core)
